Congratulations!!! That is amazing, I wish Utah wasn't so backwards in it's thinking and would let same sex couples become foster parents.

So is this the first step to you two adopting? Just curious because Holly and I are thinking of going that route.

Becky-
Every state is different (as far as I can tell) We chose to work through the Childrens S@cial Services of Wisc@nsin. We had to go through the process of becoming foster parents... and we are fostering to adopt... low legal risk, only. If it were up to me we would have a house full of foster kids... Mic has a big heart, and she would be broken if she had to say hello then goodbye goodbye and goodbye-- yanno? NOTHING is 100%..but because we are only accepting low legal risk (which also includes safehaven) we are hoping to not have to say goodbye.

Unfortunetly, in Wisconsin, two same sex parents can't be on the birth certificate (unless you luck out and get a very liberal judge-- or go to the measures of going to a county where they have only ONE judge that is liberal) I don't see that in our immediate future... if it happens, great- if not, we will work towards other legal measures to protect us and the child.

BUT gays can be foster parents.

Eh- always circles, right?

I am so happy that Florida is starting to come around. I will be watching the story unfold, there are so many kids who need stable homes!
