*blank stare*

The private interview went fine and then ms. Brittany said some stuff about some crap and she totally burst my bubble. Maybe it is my altered hormonal state - but it left me kinda empty. I GET that nothing is 100%. I GET that we may have to wait a long time to be placed with a child that fits our situation. I understand, Brittany. She continues to be a Debbie Downer. "we NEVER get babies"..."it just DOESN'T HAPPEN".

I had to call Anne to have her talk me down. I have to keep the faith that things will work out. Today was challenging to remember that.

Oh Casey! I'm sorry! Don't let her upset you. Look at the friends you've told me about that got "the call" in a month or two and then got a second baby too! Everything WILL work out fine. I'M too excited for it not to. She's just trying to push a 15 year old on you. :)(Are you interested? Got one!)

Meanie Brittany!! I am sorry she burst your bubble. Keep the faith-- your child/ children are out there!!

Because you want a "baby", have you considered Foster to Adopt? The chances of you getting a baby are greater. However, the risk that the child could go back to it's bio family if they straighten their lives out is always there.
I'm still hoping for the best for you.

Mark-- that is what we are supposed to be signed up for. Foster to adopt. Low to medium risk.

She somehow has taken that decision into her own hands.

It is so frustrating.

babies find their mamas. even if it takes a little longer than you hoped, he/she will get to you.

in the meantime...i'll hold brittany...you slap her.

Sorry to hear that she is no negative. We have a good friend that her sister and her partner signed on for the same type of foster program and received a baby shortly after getting approved and she is now adopted by them and is 5 years old. So hold on to your hope and postive attitude. Dont let her take that from you.

i don't know if i've posted on your blog before, but what a bummer. there's always got to be a debbie downer. don't listen to her. everything being in order is a GOOD thing. the baby WILL come!

Casey - you know your child is out there, waiting for you. Just keep that in mind. He/She may or may not be a baby but you will know right away when it is right and that baby is your baby. You'll know and there is nothing Brit (aka debbie downer) can do to take that away from you.

Sounds like our home visit. I know it's their job to keep us "realistic", that it can take a long time, "there are so many unknowns", maybe you could consider being foster parents to "parent" instead...umm, NO! Same here, it was a downer. We ended up emailing a super long email asking "where are our strengths, we feel like you spent 3hrs pointing out all the negatives..."

But - hang in there - we will both succeed eventually!
