I have run into my first facebook "issue" .
My manager, El Snoro, requested to "friend" me. Talk about awkward.
I think I am going to ignore it. He and I have nothing in common, and there is no reason we SHOULD be facebook friends. Honestly, I am a little peeved that he even put me in this situation. Especially considering we have polar opposite political and religious views and he is MY BOSS.
He is kind of creepy, and I can see how me ignoring this request will possibly come back to bite me in the arse.
Has anyone else had to go through something like this?

I've never been requested by someone who is my boss that I wasn't already friends with. But I HAVE been requested by other people that I don't want to be friends with. I just ignore it. One person requested me THREE times and has stopped now. I've also requested people who I went to school with, like grade school, and was never accepted. Oh well.
Definitely IGNORE. If he says anything, tell him it's your personal policy to not mix profession/private lives. If he harasses you, you should remind him of your rights as an employee. He's a cad for even asking.
I agree with Aging Tomboy. Don't mix business with pleasure. Unless Pleasure is your Business. Facebook is good for finding old friends but other than that, I don't see the point. For instance, my Dad requested to be my friend. Why? Your Non-Facebook Friend, m.
I also agree with what everyone has said here. I only have one work facebook friend and with that I usually block him from most of my postings and my pictures. So he really can't see my stuff but I friended him anyways.
Ugh! I have a friend of a friend of a friend... maybe? from college that keeps wanting to friend me. I don't know why. I don't remember her. I've ignored her three times now, you'd think she'd get the hint!
I can't even imagine if my boss wanted to friend me!! YIKES! I think ignoring is the only option you have!
I never friend anyone at work, coworker or boss. Just to personal!
Yes and Id love to comment but Im afraid Im being watched by the very person. hahhahaaha
Another option... you add the person, but then go back in a delete them. It tells you you're added, but not that your deleted :)
A few weeks after I started my job, a co-worker friended me. I ignored the request. We are good friends at work, and she never said anything, but to this day when co-workers talk about Facebook I really don't say too much. I would definitely ignore this guy too.
Decision made: I ignored him.
:)
